In my setting children are gently encouraged to discover their individual strengths and unique talents. I believe that each child possesses a marvellous capacity to learn. Learning is best accomplished in a place that is emotionally secure, physically safe, and fun!
My aim is to provide a safe and happy place for children, where they can learn, grow and have fun! A place where parents know that they can safely leave their children and that their child’s well-being is paramount.
I provide a family childcare service but with the extra addition of a homelike environment. I am different from a childcare centre or nursery because I am limited in the number of children I can look after.
I have recently extended my setting to provide a dedicated self-contained playroom, which includes a quiet area, sleeping area, under 1’s area and a sensory area amongst others. Outside I have a large secure garden and paved areas so we can play outside whatever the weather. The entire setting has been checked and meets Ofsted’s regulations.
I believe that children learn the most when engaged in play based activities and as such I ensure that all the children in my care participate in a full range of activities including free play, imaginative play, cooking, outdoor activities, stories, creative art, crafts, music, dance and much more.
The children in my care are able to understand their role in the wider community by regularly visiting toddler groups, local parks, shops, libraries and other aspects of local life.
As a requirement by OFSTED I implement the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) within my setting. I plan activities based on each child’s needs and interests. I use an online learning journal called Tapestry which helps me to record, track and celebrate children’s progress in early years education.
This unique journal is shared online with parents, who are able to see special moments and view their child’s progress.
A summarised assessment report is given annually to formally update parent’s on their child’s progress.
My working day is between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday, however, I aim to provide a flexible service that is tailored to your needs – please ring or email to discuss your individual requirements.
My hourly rate is 5.00 per hour and offer a sibling discount. All fees are to be paid at the end of each month – method of payment will be by mutual agreement.
I offer healthy snacks to all children in my care inclusive of fees.
I am registered with the Tax-free childcare service and accept all employee childcare voucher schemes.
